The Kitchen Truck
A small, fully equipped truck will take hot meals to neighbourhoods that cannot reach the hall, starting with the east side market.
Meals that come to you
Many of our neighbours cannot easily reach the Elm Street Hall because of work hours, caring duties or limited transport. The Kitchen Truck brings the Community Kitchen to them.
We are raising $35,000 to buy and fit out a used truck, cover insurance and fuel for the first year and train a team of volunteer drivers and cooks.
What it will cost
$25 covers fuel for one evening route
$100 pays for a month of food safety training and licences
$250 buys a set of serving and refrigeration equipment
$1,000 sponsors a full week of truck service
Updates, route maps and volunteer sign-ups will be posted here as the truck takes shape.
