The tap at Kesi Hill: a year of clean water

Twelve months after the pump was installed, the water committee reports on repairs, school attendance and the new market garden.

What changed

Before the well, most households walked more than an hour each way for water. Now the nearest tap is a few minutes from every home, and the walking hours have gone to schools, shops and rest.

The committee has repaired the pump twice, both times in under three days, using parts from the shared repair fund.

What is next

  • A second tap near the market

  • A small garden watered from the tank

  • Training two more technicians from the next village

Water tests at six months and twelve months both passed. The results are posted on the tank wall for anyone to read.
