Clean water

Clear Water Project

Hand-pump wells and community taps, built with local water committees and kept running by trained technicians.

Community members and technicians installing a hand pump and storage tank

Built with the community

Each site starts with a village water committee. They choose where the well or tap goes, agree who looks after it and decide how repair costs are shared. We bring the drilling team, the pump and the training.

Water is tested before the build and again six months later. Local technicians learn to service every pump, so a broken part is fixed in days rather than months.

Why it lasts

  • Sites chosen by the people who use them

  • Technicians trained and paid locally

  • Water tested before and after every build

  • A shared repair fund for every tap

Clean water close to home gives people back hours every day. Most of those hours go to school, work and rest.
