Neighbour Pantry

Fresh groceries three days a week, with no sign-up and no questions. Neighbours choose what their household needs.

Neighbours choosing groceries at the Neighbour Pantry

How it works

Three days a week our volunteers open the hall doors, lay out fresh produce, tinned goods and bread, and neighbours choose what their household needs. There is no sign-up, no forms and no questions about why you came.

Shelves are stocked from local growers, supermarket surplus and community food drives. What we cannot rescue, we buy in bulk, so the shelves stay full in January as well as December.

What you can expect

  • Fresh fruit and vegetables every visit

  • Staples such as rice, pasta, oil and tea

  • Baby supplies and pet food when we have them

  • A warm drink, and someone to talk to if you want one

We open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10am to 2pm at the Elm Street Hall.
