Tool Library and Workshops

Borrow tools for free and learn how to use them, from bike repair and sewing to basic carpentry and job applications.

Borrow, learn, fix

The Tool Library lends drills, ladders, sewing machines and garden tools to anyone with a library card, which costs nothing. Next to the shelves is a workshop space where volunteers teach the skills to go with them.

Weekday evening workshops cover bike repair, sewing, basic carpentry, home repairs and CV writing. Most run for two hours and everything is provided.

What is on this season

  • Bike repair basics, Tuesdays

  • Mending and sewing circle, Wednesdays

  • Beginner carpentry, Thursdays

  • Job application help, any evening by appointment

Everything is free, and the tools go home with you if you ask nicely.
